"Glowing skin is always in."
Spray tanning is a form of self-tanning (or sunless tanning) where a fine mist is sprayed onto your body.
This mist has an ingredient in it called Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) that interacts with your own skin’s chemistry to turn it tan, or bronze.
This temporary effect is completely safe for your skin (although it doesn’t provide any protection against the sun’s rays).
The results you can get from tanning sprays are generally very good.
We use the highest quality spray tan to ensure that you are left with a gorgeous, natural tan. Our tans usually last on the skin for up to 10 days depending on your skin type. We also work with body building competitors for pre-stage tanning.

How to Exfoliate:
Tools: Black Magic Tan exfoliating Gel & Mitt, long handled Loofah and pumice stone if required.
Prior to your shower place apply Exfoliating Gel directly onto dry skin. Starting at the feet massage into your skin in a circular motion. You will begin to see and feel the dead skin cells falling away. Don’t forget, hands, chest and face.
Next, into the shower and thoroughly remove any traces of exfoliating gel and dead skin cells. Then using your exfoliating mitt work your way up the body in a circular motion to remaining dead skin cells, improve circulation and rejuvenate the skin. Use a body brush to exfoliate your back and other hard-to-reach places.
Use a pumice stone on your feet to eliminate rough spots and calluses. If your feet are extremely rough, soak them in a basin of warm water mixed with a cup of milk for 30 minutes before getting into the shower.
Rinse your body with lukewarm water. Pat skin dry.

Aloe Vera Leaf Juice
Aloe Barbadensis leaf juice, or Aloe Vera as it is more commonly known, is extracted from the leaves of the Aloe plant. Aloe Vera has been used medicinally by many cultures for thousands of years.
Skin Care Benefits
Scientists have discovered over 200 nutritional substances in Aloe Barbadensis leafs, including 20 minerals, 20 amino acids, 12 vitamins, and active enzymes.
• It can be efficiently used topically, because of its burn healing effects, scar reducing and wounds healing properties.
• Aloe protects the skin from UV damage. The herb contains aloin which can block up to 30 percent of the ultraviolet rays when applied to the skin’s surface.
• Aloe also, contains an impressive number of vitamins, including A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, C, E, Choline and Folic Acid. These vitamins are great for protecting the skin from free radicals.
Sunflower Seed OIl
Sunflower Oil retains moisture, and in preventing the skin from drying out it helps to keep wrinkles at bay and the skin looking youthful and vibrantly healthy.
It is extremely powerful at keeping away bacteria and maintaining youthful skin. Sunflower seed oil contains a rich mixture of vitamins and other natural substances that have a healthy effect on your skin and its pores.
It is very good for acne sufferers, especially if the traditional acne remedies have failed. It is very high in antioxidants, particularly the antioxidant vitamins A, C and E, which prevent free radicals from damaging your skin and creating wrinkles and the appearance of premature aging.
Muscle Tans innovative formula means you do not have to endure heavy layering of DHA to obtain the perfect competition colour.
Shower, exfoliate and pat skin dry ensuring you have NO product on your skin. It is also recommended that you shampoo and condition your hair at this time.
Upon arrival at your tanning technician barrier cream is placed on any extra dry areas such as heels, feet, knees, elbows to ensure the tan does not ‘grab’ (If you have been exfoliating well beforehand this may not be necessary)
The technician will now apply two even coats of Muscle Tan or alternatively, Midnight Magic or Vibe Evolution from the Black Magic range to give you excellent depth of colour, drying well between coats
What to Wear
Once your tan is dry, choose to wear very loose, dark clothing, to avoid rubbing off of the tan during development time.
How Long to Leave Your Tan
Please ensure you follow your tanning technicians’ recommendation for development times to ensure you achieve the best result possible.
During Your Tans Development Time
• Avoid water, exercise and any tasks that may cause you to perspire. Also try to avoid exposing yourself to varying temperatures as this too will cause you to perspire particularly on very hot days.
• If you need to wash your hands try to use a sanitising hand wash versus water.
Development Time Is Up
Once your development time has expired rinse off the bronzer under a lukewarm shower for 30 seconds. Do not use soap or other cleansers on your skin. Pat dry.
NB: Your base tan will continue to develop for up to 12 hours.
Muscle Tan can now be applied to achieve desired depth of colour. Simply ensure you dry well between coats. The number of coats is dependent on how dark you need to go for each category.
After your tan has been completed and is touch dry stand back and lightly spritz Black Magic Tan Lock and dry well. Tan Lock will lock in the colour, minimise or eradicate smudging that may occur overnight and repel moisture. Tan Lock also leaves a slight sheen on the body.
Muscle Tan is now left on until the competition is over.
On the Day of Your Competition
Using the Black Magic Tan Lock has hopefully eliminated the need for any touch-up of your tan,
If your tan does require repair, pump a small amount of Black Magic Muscle Tan Mousse and gently dab onto the affected area using a small makeup sponge or brush, gently flatten and dry well. Repeat if necessary to achieve desired colour.
Glaze – Body Shine
The Muscle Tan Glaze is available as either an aerosol or pump action.
Pump Action: Thirty minutes before your stage presentation pump onto hands and apply all over the body to achieve desired result.
Aerosol Action: Thirty minutes before your stage presentation stand back and lightly spritz all over the body to achieve desired result.
To have your skin tone back to normal simply use the following steps.

2. Shower and watch as the tan melts away.
3. Exfoliate well as stated previously.
4. Dry skin well
5. Using a body lotion moisturise all over the body.
WHAT DOES SKIN TONE MEAN?
Understanding about skin tone is important for all cosmetic purposes and tanning is no exception.
The skin’s undertone is the warm, cool, or neutral hue that shows through the surface colour of skin. Although the surface colour of skin changes depending on sun exposure and other skin conditions, the skin’s undertone remains consistent.
Knowing whether your undertone is warm, cool or neutral will assist in making sure your tan matches your skin to deliver the best possible result.
There are several ways to determine your skin tone, but here is a quick method to try:
The Quick Test
Look at the colour of the veins on the inside of your wrist.
Make sure you are examining your wrists in natural light, either standing near a window or outdoors, and that your skin is clean and free of product.
• If your veins appear blue or purple, you have a cool skin tone.
• If your veins appear green, you have a warm skin tone.
• If you can’t tell if your veins are green or blue, you may have a neutral skin tone and can have a variety of choice
• If you have an olive complexion, you likely fall into the neutral category.
Cool Skin Tone
The best tanning base for your skin tone is a tanning solution from our Green Base range. A Green base will counteract any pink hue your skin will throw leaving you with the most natural looking tan.
Warm Skin Tone
If you’re a warm skin tone, the veins on your wrist will appear green, and your skin type will quickly bronze or darken in the sun, so your skin tone would suit a tanning solution from within our Vibe Range which has a Violet Base. A violet base will counteract any yellow hue.
Neutral Skin Tone
If you fit within this range you have a wide variety of choice as your skin tone allows for a wide variety of choice.
Our competition and per romance tans have been designed to enable competitor to go from white to black without fear of over development. The normal tanning rules for selection do not apply.
